Some feedback from New Zealand based female anglers;
“Recently I had the privilege to finally get my hands on Composite Developments new Diva. The Diva being a rod that is specifically designed for woman, that wants everything that a man has, but more in a fishing rod! My first outing was naturally on my favourite piece of water the Tauranga Taupo river, a magnificent sunny day, no wind, low and clear, and of course one of those challenging days when every condition that could favour you is not an option. The Diva comes in two weights either a 5 and or a 7, 4 pce which is fantastic for backcountry or simply transporting your rod. Its cosmetic; a smart green sheen that naturally appealed as its my favourite colour, but also will prove to be a practical non glare finish, that will do little to interrupt fish in their natural environment. So to start with we have a 4 piece, my colour and rod weight being a 7, that I generally enjoy fishing with and casting. Well, what a delight, a comfortable, smaller grip, that will appeal to ladies that have smaller hands and find that the larger grips don't feel just quite as comfortable. To cast, the rod is quick to load and release, light well defined in its action and quick to mend. It will appeal to ladies who have a slighter upper body build and find it hard to cast a slower heavier action rod. You will have little trouble in being able to work the rod in all conditions, as with ladies, they allow the rod to do the work, rather than the body action that slightly heavier rods force you to use. To my delight after loading, casting and a quick mend I was amazed to see the indicator twitch and striking played my first fish on my Diva. To be on my favourite water, a fantastic day, with great company and to catch a fish first cast! What more could you ask for? My Diva was stretched and worked hard, for me, I fished all sorts of water, real fast quick riffley water, deep long runs, short beats that were low and clear and through all of those stretches the rod performed magnificently. I landed all of the fish I hooked (amazingly as I can be a bit of a dizzy at times), and released them, my rod was stretched on several occasions and it was superb! I love it!"

“Early last month I was fortunate to attend a women's fly fishing course in Invercargill. This was a great weekend and during the session we were given the opportunity to try the new Diva rod especially designed for the lady angler. I was literally 'hooked' and found the rod just perfect for me as a female fly fisherman. In fact after the course I persuaded my husband that this is the rod for me. It is exceedingly light with excellent casting distance, the action is smooth and easy, providing effortless fishing. I found a day on the river less tiring with the Diva rod than my old one. We have fished over the holiday break up around Rotorua, Wairarapa, Nelson and Lewis Pass areas as well as our Southland rivers. The Diva for woman is certainly to be recommended and the ease and lightness of the rod is a force to be reckoned with. To date I outdo my husband on fish caught and I put this down to a rod that is suited for women giving them effortless time on the rivers keeping up with the blokes!!”

"What a beautiful rod, nice to hold, with a smaller grip, perfectly balanced and a few inches shorter than the standard men's rod. I travel internationally a lot and the four pieces means this rod fits comfortably into my suitcase. I fished the Tarawera in sublime conditions...the Diva performed to all my expectations. The gentleman I was fishing with observed the action, took the rod from me and had his own experience with the Diva. I believe Composite Developments have truely captured the essence of what is required for women to fly fish with ease and confidence in a male dominated arena. The Diva is fast action and precise and I look forward to using it for my Fly Fishing Retreat Weekends for Breast Cancer Survivors".
